Needle-free Technology

The Hyaluron Pen has become very popular in the dermal filler world for those who have a phobia to needle injections. The "Pen" was originally created for diabetic patients to use as a needle-free, pain-free way to deliver insulin into the subcutaneous tissue. The diameter of the flow is 0.17mm, which is twice as small as an insulin needle.
How does it work

This innovative technology allows a jet injector with high air pressure, to force Hyaluronic Acid filler or other treatment ingredients effortlessly into the epidermis and upper dermal layers of the skin. Once Hyaluronic Acid is passed through the skin, it is converted into nanoscale molecules and spreads throughout in a more even form.

What is Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic Acid is a natural sugar found in the human body, and happens to be the most hydrating substance in the world. Its primary function is to attract water and keep the skin hydrated, plump and youthful.

As we age, our body decreases the amount of Hyaluronic Acid produced as well as collagen fibers. This decrease causes our skin and bodies to look older, with a loss of hydration and elasticity; therefore wrinkles form and the skin begins to sag. By adding Hyaluronic Acid back into the skin, we revive the collagen and promote a fresher, more plump look.
The human body creates Hyaluronic Acid naturally, so there are very low risks of allergic reactions, making is safe for even sensitive skin.

How long do results last
Everyone's body metabolizes filler at different paces and your body will naturally absorb some filler after your first treatment. Depending on the fullness in lips or the depth in the crease you are wanting to correct, and how quickly your body metabolizes the filler, will determine how many treatments are needed. In some cases, a foundation needs to be built to keep filler in place for max duration. It is recommended for areas that require additional treatments, that this be done 1 week apart. Results can last 5-7 months, however it is important to live a healthy life style, stay hydrated daily, and limit sun exposure. Smoking will lessen the duration of results. To maintain your results, it is also highly recommended to not let filler completely dissolve before your next "maintenance" treatment.

*** PLEASE NOTE *** It is recommended to book your appointment with at least a 4-5 day advance to allow for Pre-Treatment guidelines to be followed.
** Pre Treatment (Important to follow)

-
Hydrate! Drink plenty of water prior to treatment. Hyaluronic Acid holds onto water and this creates better and longer lasting results.
-
Avoid all caffeinated drinks the day of your appointment.
-
Avoid Ibuprofen or similar products (Advil, Motrin, Aleve) for one week prior to procedure.
-
Avoid fish oil, Vitamin E, and gingko biloba for 1 week prior to this procedure.
-
To help decrease the possibility of bruising or swelling, take Arnica/Boiron tablets 3 days prior to treatment (these are dissolved under the tongue) and for three days following treatment. They can be purchases on Amazon or check with your local pharmacy as some do carry them OTC. Follow instruction accordingly.
-
Avoid laser treatments, chemical peel, and topicals such as Retin A or Tretinoin creams for 1 week prior to procedure.

** Post Treatment (Important to follow)

-
Hydrate! Continue to drink lots of water for longer lasting results.
-
Continue with Arnica tablets for 3 days.
-
Apply Arnica gel often to help with swelling or any bruising that may have occurred.
-
Avoid strenuous exercise for at least 24 hours after treatment.
-
Avoid hot temperatures (sun, tanning beds) for 24 hours after treatment.
-
For any discomfort or swelling you may use a cold pack (or ice wrapped in wet cloth) 5 min on and 5 minutes off. But do not apply ice directly as this will freeze the Hyaluronic Acid.
-
Avoid excessive salt for 24 hours as this can dehydrate.
-
Again, drink plenty of water.
